OUR STORY
Growing up working in agriculture, ranching, and greenhouses from a young age, our up-close view found both gaps and opportunities for improvement in the large-scale systems.
Over the years, these beliefs grew stronger: clean, quality, sustainable food can be raised without chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or fungicides.
Raising our own family outdoors in the countryside has only deepened these convictions. Just as we avoid chemicals and artificial nutrition when feeding our family, we also avoid them when raising our animals. If we wouldn't put it on our own family's plates, we won't sell it to your family, either.
What we grow here in Lacombe County is a reflection of that commitment. Our goal is not to do things the fastest way and easiest way, nor to maximize production at all costs. We're trying to do them the right way, with honesty and transparency, to produce real pasture-based nutrition with no shortcuts.
WHY THIS MATTERS TO US
Our pastures are completely spray-free. No herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers, ever. Our animals are raised without hormones, medicated feed, or antibiotics of any kind. We didn't arrive at these choices by accident. We arrived at them because we've made deliberate decisions to do things differently.
Did you know that over 99% of chickens and turkeys raised in the US & Canada will never see the sun for their entire lifetime? Like humans, animals need sunlight for optimal health. Sunlight triggers the production of of crucial chemicals, hormones, and compounds that improve heart health, lower blood pressure, boost mood, relieve pain, and enhance the immune system. Each of these result in a level of health that no longer requires medication or lab-derived nutrition.
Healthy soil grows healthy, diverse pasture. Healthy pasture raises healthy animals that do not lack trace elements or minerals that need to be accounted for in a special feed mix.
Animals living fuller, longer, natural lives — with room to move, fresh air, and real food — produce something you simply can't replicate in any other way. The difference in flavour and nutrition are real.
